Which Mobile Network do I need to be on?
You can be on any mobile network. Although OneKwacha uses your phone number at the point of registration (for KYC purposes), OneKwacha does not require you to belong to a specific network to use it. As such, you can send and receive money through your OneKwacha wallet to anyone regardless of the mobile network the phone number belongs to.
How can I top-up and withdraw my money?
You can top-up (also know as Cash-In) your money into OneKwacha at anytime. To top-up, you can either use your VISA or MasterCard debit or credit card and the funds will move from your bank account into the OneKwacha Wallet, or you can top-up using the FlexiCard, which is a scratch card you can buy with cash from kiosks that have them just like buying and topping up airtime. You don’t need to have a bank account to top-up using a FlexiCard.
You can withdraw (also known as Cash-Out) your money out of OneKwacha at anytime, either through a friend (or Agent) that has hard cash, whom you can transfer to the amount you want to cash-out and he/she will receive it in real-time and give you the hard cash that is on them, or if you have a bank account, you can withdraw to your account and the funds will reflect in your bank account after 2 business days. As such, transferring to your friend (or Agent) is the fastest and most hassle free way of withdrawing (cashing out).
Where can I find a OneKwacha Agent?
What enables someone to be an agent is the possession of physical hard cash. We believe that anyone (including your friends and family) can be your agent, as long as they have two things; registered on the OneKwacha mobile app and have physical hard cash. Therefore, as a way of flexibly providing the top-up/withdraw services from anywhere at anytime, OneKwacha does not have designated agents in specific locations.

As a buyer, you can use OneKwacha’s QR code scanning feature to pay anyone in person without disclosing your phone number or personal details, by simply scanning the seller’s QR code as a way of purchasing their goods or services. The transaction is fast, safe and secure, with the purchase amount leaving your wallet balance and reflecting in the seller’s wallet balance in real-time.
The goods and services can include but are not limited to airtime purchases, manual labour payment, transport (taxi and bus) payments, toll gate payments, drinks and groceries.
What are Outstanding Payments?
Outstanding Payments are requests you have received asking you to make a payment. Friends and family can send you a request to send them money via OneKwacha and this request will appear under Outstanding Payments. Similarly, service providers you are supposed to pay will invoice you and their invoices will appear as requests to pay them under Outstanding Payments.
